Simeon Stafford was born in Dukinfield, Tameside, Greater Manchester in 1956. He was introduced to L.S.Lowry after winning the Robert Owen School Award for Art and the Manchester News Portrait Award. Lowry then became a friend of the family and encouraged Simeon to study art. In the early 1970s Simeon studied at Hyde College and in 1974, became a professional artist exhibiting his work in mixed exhibitions throughout the north of England and London. In 1996, Stafford moved to Cornwall where the strong colours and light had a big impact on his work. Simeon has had numerous solo exhibitions as well as works accepted for the prestigious Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. His work is in numerous private collections including Her Majesty The Queen and Tony Blair.
